Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Surah Al-Ahzab 33:21 — 'You have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example'
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (peace and blessings be upon him) is the final messenger of Islam, sent by Allah as a mercy to all of humanity. Born in Makkah around 570 CE, he grew up as an orphan — his father passed before his birth, and his mother when he was just six years old. He was raised first by his grandfather Abd al-Muttalib, and then by his uncle Abu Talib, who loved him deeply.
Even before prophethood, Muhammad ﷺ was known throughout Makkah as Al-Amin — The Trustworthy. In a city filled with trade and competition, people trusted him completely. He was gentle with the poor, honest in his dealings, and deeply thoughtful in everything he did. When the Ka'bah was being rebuilt and the different tribes of Makkah were about to fight over who would have the honour of placing the sacred Black Stone, it was Muhammad ﷺ who brought peace — asking each tribe leader to hold a corner of the cloth, lifting the stone together.
At the age of forty, while meditating in the Cave of Hira on the outskirts of Makkah, the angel Jibreel (Gabriel) appeared to Muhammad ﷺ with the first words of the Quran: "Read! In the name of your Lord who created." From that night onward, Muhammad ﷺ dedicated his life to delivering Allah's message — facing rejection, persecution, and tremendous personal loss with extraordinary patience, courage, and steadfastness.
One of the most beloved stories of the Prophet ﷺ is his Hijrah — the migration from Makkah to Madinah. Surrounded by enemies who sought to kill him, Muhammad ﷺ and his closest companion Abu Bakr hid in a cave on Mount Thawr. Their pursuers came right to the cave entrance. But a spider had woven its web across the opening and a dove had made its nest there — signs, in the eyes of the searchers, that no one had recently entered. The cave hid the Prophet ﷺ safely, and he and Abu Bakr continued their journey to Madinah. Muhammad ﷺ told his companion: "Do not grieve. Allah is with us."
The Prophet ﷺ was known for his extraordinary kindness — to children, to animals, to the elderly, to his enemies. He would stop mid-journey if a cat was resting on his cloak. He would greet children first. He would sit with the poor and the sick with the same warmth and attention he gave to kings and leaders.
Every Muslim loves Prophet Muhammad ﷺ deeply, because he showed us how to live as Muslims — with kindness, honesty, courage, and complete trust in Allah. Learning his stories is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children.
